Metsä Fibre’s major project in Kemi

The construction phase of the bioproduct mill of Metsä Fibre, part of Metsä Group, is underway in Kemi in Lapland, and it is estimated to continue until the end of June 2023. The major construction project requires a massive number of employees in different fields. The bioproduct mill project’s construction phase is estimated to employ 15,000 people. This means that demand for workforce has increased significantly in certain sectors, and not all employees can be found in Lapland, as employees are recruited from across Finland.

The bioproduct mill’s worksite in Kemi requires skilled employees in the following fields:

• Construction
• Earthwork
• Logistics and storage
• Electricity, automation and ICT
• Mechanical engineering and the metal industry
• Vehicle and equipment servicing and maintenance
• Industrial maintenance and installation
