Regional results of the Labour Market Roadmap project to be presented during the Paikkoja auki, etsitään tekijät! tour

In autumn 2021, Minister of Employment Tuula Haatainen launched the Labour Market Roadmap project which has sought to improve the availability of labour in all sectors throughout Finland. In the roadmap work led by experts from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment, a sector group consisting of experts from different employers’ and employees’ associations examined how finding skilled labour could be improved.

The data model developed by project experts provides a more detailed picture of the supply and demand of labour in different sectors and regions. This has deepened the understanding of whether this concerns solely a labour shortage, lack of competence or matching problems, and also how much work-based and education-based immigration Finland needs.

Results of the Labour Market Roadmap project to be presented during a regional tour

During the Paikkoja auki, etsitään tekijät! ELY tour, experts from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment will present the most important regional results of the Labour Market Roadmap project in each ELY region. Representatives of regional companies, educational institutions, cities and municipalities will also present their own solutions.

“The better we understand the causes of labour-related bottlenecks, the better we can find solutions to these problems. I am delighted to have the opportunity to discuss the results of the Labour Market Roadmap project in different parts of Finland on the ELY tour, and, at the same time, consider what else could be done to find jobs for jobseekers and employees for all jobs,” says Minister of Employment Tuula Haatainen.
