    • The more details you provide about your competence and experience, the better suggestions you will receive.
    • You can easily update your profile later.

To fill in a job applicant profile, log in to Job Market Finland. Logging in to Job Market Finland requires strong identification. You can do this with your online banking ID, a mobile certificate, or an identity card with a chip.

After signing in, go to the My Job Path section and select Job Applicant Profile.

Your job applicant profile consists of three sections: ‘Knowledge and skills’, ‘Introduction’, and ‘Work experience and education’. If you complete all sections as comprehensively as possible, you will receive job suggestions that are suitable for you. The information you include in your job applicant profile can be accessed by the employment authority if you are a job seeker.

    • In the 'Introduction' section, you can add a title to your job applicant profile, write a short introduction about yourself, and describe your job preferences and skills.
    • In the 'Other knowledge and skills' section, you can indicate the area in which you are seeking a job and list your professional qualifications. You can also provide information about your driving licences and the languages you speak.
    • In the ‘Work experience and education’ section, you can give details on your work experience and education. The information is automatically listed in chronological order.

The information you enter in your job applicant profile will be automatically saved. After entering just a few bits of information, you will see recommended jobs on the ‘Job recommendations’ tab. The more information you add to your profile, the more suitable your job suggestions will be.

The employment authority may already have information concerning you gathered as you used the services previously. You can add this information to your job applicant profile if you have not yet created a profile or if you want to delete the information in it.

To add information to an empty profile:

    1. Open the job applicant profile and select your profile for editing.
    2. Locate a proposal with your existing information. The system may provide you with information that the employment authority already has about you, including about your education, work experience and competence.
    3. Select the information to be added. Acknowledge the information you wish to include in your profile. You can edit the information before saving it to match your current situation.
    4. Save the changes

    Useful information

    • As all information is not added automatically, you decide which information you want to use.
    • You should check the information carefully and supplement it yourself if necessary.
    • An up-to-date and comprehensive profile improves your chances of being contacted by employers.

When you publish your job applicant profile, the employer can contact you through the profile. Such contacts will be automatically forwarded to you as Suomi.fi messages.

To receive these messages, make sure that:

    • you have activated Suomi.fi Messages, and
    • you have published your job applicant profile.

In their message, the employer usually provides instructions for what you should do next. For example, you should contact the employer or apply for a job.

What does publishing the profile mean?

When you publish a job applicant profile, you can present your skills and competence to employers who are looking for employees at Job Market Finland. Employers can browse published job applicant profiles in the employee search, and when an employer publishes a job posting, Job Market Finland provides proposals on suitable job seekers. If you want to allow employers using Job Market Finland to see your profile and contact you, click on ‘Review and publish’. You will receive contact requests from employers as Suomi.fi messages, so please remember to check whether you have received messages. When you publish a profile, you also need to set a publication period for it. This can be for up to six months. Remember to republish your profile if necessary.

The classified FINESCO occupation and competence glossary used in job postings is largely based on the European occupation and competence glossary. Occupations and competences in the Finnish labour market have been added to the glossary and are continually being added.

Even if you cannot find the professional title or competence you need, choose the most suitable occupations and competences.

Based on the information you have added to your profile, you will receive suggestions for jobs that are right for you on the ‘Job recommendations’ tab. You will get better matches if your profile clearly describes a single main occupation in which you are seeking for a job and the competences that support it, rather than just a broad list.  You can read more about labour matching on the ‘How the matching works’ page.

Filling in a job applicant profile is worth the trouble. Once completed, it is easy to update your profile whenever you acquire new competence or experience or complete your studies.

Would you like to extend the publication duration of your job applicant profile?

Is your job applicant profile becoming outdated, and would you like to republish it? You can now renew it for six months by clicking "Continue publishing for 6 months".
