Transition security means cooperation during personnel reduction situations 

Transition security is a comprehensive operating model for personnel redundancies and lay-offs. The aim is to make the transition as smooth as possible for the employer and employee both. Personal customers within the scope of transition security include employees who have been made redundant for production or financial reasons or reasons arising from the restructuring of the employer’s operations. The laid-off employees are also offered support and information as part of the transition security.

The employment authorities provide both employers and personal customers with free-of-charge and impartial advice, information, guidance and human support in change situations. The employment authorities work in close cooperation in the areas to manage change situations.

The scope and related employer responsibilities of transition security are determined by the law. However, it is possible to develop the service further above this minimum level to provide customers with better service.
