How to add information about a missing location
Locations reported to Statistics Finland appear on Job Market Finland with a delay
You must notify Statistics Finland of your company’s or organisation’s locations. However, the information reported to Statistics Finland is only updated in Job Market Finland in the first week of each month.
Due to this delay, there have been instances where missing location information has prevented users from making contact or creating job postings in Job Market Finland. This has also affected the statistics, as jobs may have been recorded in the wrong areas – for example, a missing branch in one area being recorded under the main office located in another area.
You can now add a branch to Job Market Finland, which will appear in the service immediately
You can add a missing location in the “Company details” section of Job Market Finland, under the “Locations” tab. This will give you immediate access to the missing location for job postings and enquiries.
To add details about a location, you must log in securely to Job Market Finland and have the necessary permissions or authorisation to represent the company. A company can grant an individual a Suomi.fi authorisation for “Update employer’s description”, in which case the individual is granted the right to update that information.
Please note that you can only add a missing branch – details of the main office are always generated based on information obtained from the Business Information System (YTJ).
Please also report your location details to Statistics Finland. When the information is subsequently received by Job Market Finland from Statistics Finland, it is identified as belonging to the same address. The name of the location is no longer updated using information from Statistics Finland.
You can edit a location created in Job Market Finland
You cannot edit or delete branches imported from Statistics Finland or another public authority in Job Market Finland,. You can edit a location created in Job Market Finland, but you cannot delete a location directly as there may be events linked to it. However, you can add a note such as "Not in use" to the name of the branch.
What to do if you want to add information about a location
In the “Business E-services” section on the ‘Company details’ page, you will find the “Locations” tab. At the bottom of the list of locations, you will find a button labelled “Add missing location”. Please provide the requested information.
Enter the official name of the branch or the company name and the town/city in the "Location name" field. Several locations may have the same name, but it must be different from the company name.
Add or verify the information regarding the sector of the company and its locations under "Sector". This information is important for statistical purposes.
Enter the postal code and street address of the location, the building number and, if necessary, a specifier.
When you enter or select the correct postal code, the "Street address" field will display the street names located within that postal code area.
The feature is based on Posti’s address code system and includes only addresses to which post is delivered. This feature is designed to reduce typing errors.
The address will be saved as your visiting address and postal address.
If you cannot find the right street, you can select the option ‘I cannot find the correct street address’. In that case, you can enter the street name yourself.
The house number will be confirmed if the street address has been selected from Posti’s address code system. Only house numbers actually located on that street will be accepted. If you have entered the street address manually, you can choose the house number freely.
In the "Specifier" section, you can provide additional information, such as the staircase number (e.g. A 32)
Once you have filled in the details, click "Save". When the entry is saved, the system checks whether there is already a location on file with the same address, sector and business ID. If the location you have added already exists, you will see an error message. You can search for that location and use it in your activities, or create a completely new location.
