Job applicant profile data interfaces

Always start the transfer of data from the other service, for example from Competency Path.

You can use the Competency Path service to import your job applicant profile data to Job Market Finland or to retrieve your job applicant profile data from Job Market Finland.

The services that act as the source or target of data work in different ways, so the manner of transferring your data varies from service to service.  

When you authorise your data in Job Market Finland, the view is always the same, as Job Market Finland does not know what data you are transferring at the time of the authorisation process. Job Market Finland will only ask you for permission to transfer your data once you have started the transfer in another service.

Data transfer stages and data protection

1. Log in to the other service, such as Competency Path, from which you want to import information to Job Market Finland or retrieve information from Job Market Finland. 
2. In the other service, select the function for transferring job applicant profile data. The service asks whether you want to import or retrieve data. 
3. The other service will forward you to log in to Job Market Finland, where you must give permission for the transfer of data. At the same time, the system ensures that the same person is logged in to both services. 
4. The permit view of Job Market Finland opens.  The permit view is the same for all services, and at this stage, Job Market Finland does not know what data is being transferred. Please note that even if you select certain profile information in the authorisation, not all of it may be transferred if it does not match between Job Market Finland and the other service. 
5. Accept the permission. If you accept the permission, Job Market Finland will either provide the requested job applicant profile data to the other service or receive the information imported from the other service and save it as part of your job applicant profile.
6. You will be redirected to the other service, which will continue to transfer the data you have given permission to.

When you import data to Job Market Finland, it is stored as part of your job applicant profile and processed in accordance with Job Market Finland’s privacy policy. When you export your profile data to another service, that service processes the retrieved data in accordance with its own privacy policy. The transfer of data is always one-off, and the permission to transfer data does not remain in force for continuous data transfer. 

Importing job applicant profile data from another service to Job Market Finland 

In this example, information from the Competency Path service is imported to the job applicant profile. 

Log in to Competency Path using Suomi.fi authentication. 

After logging in, you will find the Data Import function on the My Settings page of the Competency Profile. 

The “Export your data” button can be found on the My settings page. Please note that from the point of view of Competency Path, this is export of data.

The service will forward to the Job Market Finland log-in page, after which you can give permission to import your profile data to Job Market Finland. For Competency Path, the data import only applies to Education and Other experience data. Even if you select information in the Substitute data section, no matches will be found in Competency Path.

The permission to import data is registered and you will return to the other service.

Retrieving job applicant profile data from Job Market Finland to another service

Import your data from Job Market Finland to another service/the Competency Path service. 

Authorise the retrieval and processing of profile data.

Select the profile data to retrieve.

Accept the data to be retrieved.

After authorisation, return to the other service.

You have retrieved the profile data to another service.
