Job position assigned to apply
The employment authority can assign you a job position that you must apply for. This is one of the core tasks of employment services to support your job search.
If you are assigned a job position that you must apply for, it is your duty as a jobseeker to apply for this position. If you do not apply for the position, the employment authority will determine if you had a valid reason to do so. In the case that you do not have a valid reason, you may lose your unemployment benefits either for a set period or permanently.
The job posting indicates the ways that the employer accepts applications as well as the application deadline. In addition to sending the job application, you must notify the employment authority that you have applied for the position. You can make such a notification by logging in to Job Market Finland's e-service. You can also notify your assigned specialist at employment services of applying for the position and let them mark the position as applied on your behalf.
