Environmental professionals work in environmental care and protection. Environmental management has an impact on the well-being of the environment by preventing or reducing the access of harmful substances to nature and by cleaning up soil and water. The objectives of environmental protection are good environmental status and ecologically sustainable development. Possible workplaces in the environmental sector include the state's environmental administration, municipalities, research institutes and environmental organisations and companies.
