Financial and insurance sector

Financial and insurance companies provide banking, insurance and investment services to their customers. The most important tasks of banks include accepting deposits and granting credits to both individual and corporate customers. Insurance companies sell insurances to protect against financial losses caused by accidents and unexpected events. Insurance companies also manage employment pension and accident insurances, both of which are part of the Finnish social security scheme.
