If you become unemployed or are laid off, register as a job seeker as soon as possible. You can register as a job seeker before your unemployment or lay-off begins, but do so no later than on your first day of unemployment, because you can only receive unemployment security from the registration date.

A job applicant profile can help you find a job
When you create a job applicant profile, you can receive job recommendations based on your experience and competence. You can create a profile once you log in to Job Market Finland using, for example, banking codes, a mobile certificate, or an email login. Job Market Finland can be used free of charge.
Employers can browse the job applicant profiles published by users and search for suitable candidates. You can decide what information is visible to employers. Remember to keep your profile up to date and highlight skills that you have gained through hobbies and positions of trust.
A customer service model for job seekers is used in TE Offices and local government pilots. The aim is for job seekers to find employment as quickly as possible. An initial interview and job search discussions are organised for job seekers to promote employment.
