Legal sector

The functioning of society is broadly governed and regulated by legislation, and the task of the judicial system is to ensure the legal protection of citizens. The Finnish judicial system comprises the independent courts, the advocates, the public legal aid system and the prosecution service as well as the enforcement authorities and the Criminal Sanctions Agency responsible for enforcing the court decisions. Legal services are also provided by law firms. Problem-solving is a characteristic of legal work. Different cases require the ability to understand not only the law but also the economic, technical and moral dimensions of matters.
