Vaasa participates in the piloting of the Job Market Finland's regional pages

Vaasa is involved in piloting the Job Market Finland's regional pages. There is a large number of working life actors in the region, and the number of higher education units alone is also significant. Ostrobothnia TE Office took on the role of the leader in the preparation of the regional pages, inviting working life organisations in the region to bring forth their service delivery and topical subjects and publish them on the pages of Job Market Finland.

Heli Haapamäki, Communications Specialist at the TE Office, says that while there definitively was an interest, many people found the end of the year a difficult time to make preparations. Consequently, the aim of the TE Office is to continue the discussion and to help the parties operating in the region to present the services that they have to offer on the pages of Job Market Finland more extensively than is the case at present,
Heli Haapamäki finds it useful that there are services such as the Job Market Finland, which is nationally comprehensive and can bring various actors together.
– Of course, it is beneficial for the user to be able to apply for jobs and search for employees, to find services suitable for him/her or his/her company and to obtain information on various training and coaching opportunities, all in a single place,” Heli Haapamäki says.
– Regional contents complement all of this very well, she comments.
From the viewpoint of the region, it is also important that theme pages can be created and presented in the same context as regional pages. They can be used to speed up themes that are important for the region, such as campaigning for finding employees for a specific sector. It is possible that at some point, there will be a need for a theme page covering the Vaasa region.
What regional pages?
The regional content of Job Market Finland will be piloted in early 2021. The regional pages consist of topical content, services, jobs and possible theme pages. The objective of the piloting project is to test how the planned contents and other solutions work in practice. The pilot will also generate data on the planning of regional cooperation models.
The pilot includes seven regions: The municipalities in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area (Helsinki, Espoo and Vantaa), Tampere, Kouvola, Vaasa and Mikkeli with their partner areas. Kuusamo and Taivalkoski have joined the project later.
