PLATE HUMAN - Planetary Health for Inclusion and Community Building
The PLATE HUMAN (Planetary Health in Increasing Inclusion and Community) project continues the work started in the Healthy Forest Models in Promoting Work and Functioning Capacity project to integrate the well-being effects of nature into knowledge and education in Kainuu for the benefit of our people and environment.
For whom?
For professionals who encounter people in a challenging labour market situation and at risk of exclusion in their work, and indirectly for their clients, whose empowerment is sought.

Theme of the project
Increasing the knowledge of municipalities and other actors on how to promote planetary health and well-being that enhances people's resources, community and inclusion.
- A model for action:
- Development of an operating model for client work based on nature-based methods that support human and environmental well-being, in cooperation with professionals from Kainuu and the pilot group in Sotkamo.
- Development of skills and training:
- Training of professionals according to the project theme
- Development of training in Kamk (especially in the social sector and open provision)
- Impact evaluation and communication
- Increasing evidence-based knowledge on the effectiveness of nature-based methods

The PLATE HUMAN will be piloted in Sotkamo, but will cover the whole of Kainuu. It is part of a three-project PLATE (Promoting Planetary Health and Wellbeing) package, which also includes the Natural Resources Institute of Finland's PLATE Nature (Planetary Health in the Wellbeing of the Natural Environment) project and the Sotkamo municipality and Sotkamo parish's PLATE Syntiniemi project (in the application phase), which aims to build an accessible nature recreation area in Sotkamo Syntiniemi as a pilot site.
