Job Market Finland is building a digital working life ecosystem

  • Blog

Job Market Finland’s future vision is to transform their platform into a working life service where they can provide the right services for the right customers at the right time, and with the right operators. The digital working life ecosystem has a key role in Job Market Finland’s future vision.

The term ecosystem usually refers to interdependent networks built between companies, entrepreneurs, research, public administration and third sector operators. Ecosystems connect operators across industry sectors and provide opportunities for cooperation which promotes the discovery of new solutions and business models related to social and economic changes.

Global and social changes such as digitalisation are challenging traditional working life. This can be seen in the disappearance of traditional jobs and the emergence of new kinds of work. Job Market Finland’s ecosystem, or the network of partners, responds to these changes in working life by bringing together public and private employment services, as well as private, public and third sector operators that provide working life and skills development services.

The ecosystem brings together working life service providers

The ecosystem brings together working life service providers across different sectors and encourages new cooperation between operators. In the future, the partners will have access to statistical information and data related to working life, which can be used in the development of new services. The cooperation and exchange of information enabled by Job Market Finland’s ecosystem is intended to provide a unique starting point for finding new business opportunities, new partnerships in working life, and fostering innovative cooperation.

The service providers in the ecosystem can make their services available for users on the Job Market Finland platform. The services will gain visibility among personal and corporate customers and in the future, tailored service proposals for a particular employment stage or customer segment will enable visibility in just the right target group.

Thanks to the ecosystem, Job Market Finland is not only a meeting place for employers and workers, but a service platform where users can also find services related to working life and skills development that are suitable for their situation. In practise this means that job seekers can find support and additional services such as career planning and skills development. For employers, the platform offers services such as employee skills development, support for recruitment, and employee well-being.

The ecosystem is now actively being built - what does this mean in practice?

Our vision for Job Market Finland is ambitious and we are moving towards it step by step. We are now taking the first steps in creating the ecosystem. We currently have more than 50 partners and the number is growing weekly. Growing the network is one of the first steps in building a unique ecosystem. However, it is equally important to develop the network and enable dialogue between service providers.

The ecosystem is being developed together with the service providers and is built according to a common goal. The long-term operation model of the ecosystem depends largely on the network's operators. Our goal is that new cooperation relationships are formed between operators, which will benefit both the service providers and the users of Job Market Finland. These new cooperation relationships will hopefully lead to the creation of new service entities and help job seekers find work.  This would enable us to respond better to the challenges of a changing working life.

We welcome all operators who provide services for working life, entrepreneurship, or competence development, and we hope that the members of the network will be actively involved in building the working life services of the future.
