Career Club is coming to Imatra! Come hear inspiring career stories and learn about experiences with employment and entrepreneurship in South Karelia.
Date: Thursday, May 21, 4:00–6:00 p.m.
Location: Einonkatu 10, Imatra
The event will offer practical tips, encouraging examples, and perspectives on life and careers in Imatra.
The event will feature speakers who have found employment in the region and are passionate about entrepreneurship; their paths to Finland and the workforce have been diverse and instructive.
During the event, we will hear talks from the following speakers:
- Saw Shane
Saw Shane moved to Finland with his family in 2024 and has built his career step by step in a new country. He is currently studying to become a practical nurse through an apprenticeship while working in home care services. In addition to his professional journey, he was the third-place finalist of The Voice of Finland 2026 and serves as a municipal ambassador for Ruokolahti. Saw shares his experiences of integration, career-building, and personal growth in Finland.

- Kateryna and Volodymyr Bekauri
Kateryna and Volodymyr Bekauri are founders of Bekaurin Makuaarre and experienced professionals in the restaurant industry. They began their entrepreneurial journey in Ukraine and have continued in Finland by combining Ukrainian food traditions with Finnish quality and service. After the success of their summer café in Ruokolahti, they are now preparing to open a new café at Imatra railway station in spring 2026. Their story highlights entrepreneurship, resilience, and cultural fusion.

- Veronika Telepen
Veronika Telepen moved to Finland nearly 30 years ago and has built a long and meaningful career in the care sector. She started her current position through an internship and now works in home care services, where she values the variety of daily work, supportive colleagues, and meaningful client relationships. Veronika shares her long-term experience of working and integrating into Finnish working life.
