Espoo boosts employer services – invite us for a visit!

Espoo Employment Services will contact Espoo-based employers this autumn. The first calling campaign will target employers with 2–7 employees.

“We want to know how Espoo employers are doing, identify their recruitment needs and offer flexible solutions. The best way to do this is to invite us over for a visit,” says Director of Employment Services Hilla-Maaria Suomi.

Services based on employers’ needs

Municipalities have been responsible for employment services since the beginning of the year and, as a result of the reform, Espoo has started to pay more attention to employers.

The labour market situation is challenging, as the difficult economic situation has reduced the number of vacancies. The large number of jobseekers may also make it difficult for employers to find suitable candidates, which is why some positions are never advertised at all.

In Espoo, we believe that there is work to be done and that employers can find talents through the city’s employment services. The city has developed its service model since the beginning of the year, making it more client-oriented and flexible. A new team has also been set up to actively identify employers’ recruitment and competence needs.

“We offer employers effective recruitment services free of charge,” says Development Service Area Manager Ulla Kangas.

The city is also interested in employers’ future competence needs.

“Together with employers and educational institutions, we can build different educational paths so that jobseekers’ skills would better meet the needs of employers,” says Client Relations Manager Anna-Mari Rouru.
