320,400 unemployed jobseekers in March

The number of unemployed jobseekers increased by 34,200 from March last year. There were 46,500 newly announced vacancies.

At the end of March, there were a total of 320,400 unemployed jobseekers. It is 34,200 more than a year earlier and 6,000 fewer than in the previous month.

At the end of March, 40,000 people were laid off nationwide, which is 4,400 fewer than the year before. A total of 27,000 people were fully laid off, which is 6,800 fewer than in March last year. Since February, the number people fully laid off decreased by 3,600.

In March, there were 115,000 long-term unemployed persons, or those who had been unemployed for at least one year without interruption, up 23,600 on the previous year.

The number of new vacancies reported in March was 46,500, which is 9,400 fewer than in March last year. In all, the number of unfilled vacancies in March was 105,300, which is 29,600 fewer than a year ago.
