National text message reminders to be introduced on 1 March – sent by TyömarkTori
- News
In the future, the employment authority will send a notification to the job seeker in advance, reminding them of the deadlines of any measures binding on the job seeker. The legislative amendment will enter into force on 1 March.
From the beginning of March, the employment authority will send you a text message notification in advance to remind you of the deadline of a measure binding on you if you have given the employment authority your telephone number.
You will receive a text message reminder of these measures
Measures that you will be reminded of via text message include
- participating in an initial interview, a job search discussion or a supplementary job search discussion,
- expiration of the application period for a job assigned to you by the employment authority,
- approaching deadline for a task agreed on in the employment plan or an equivalent plan, and
- approaching deadline for responding to a request for clarification, a request for further clarification or a hearing (also if you have announced that you would submit attachments later).
If you have an obstacle that prevents you from attending an agreed-on meeting, contact the employment authority in advance and book a new appointment.
Notes
To start receiving text message reminders, the employment authority must have no more than one phone number associated with you, the number must be Finnish, and it must be recorded in the correct format. The correct format means that the number cannot contain any special characters, such as parentheses, periods, or letters. The number may include the country code +358 or 00358, but the number may also be recorded without a country code.
Text message reminders sent by the employment authority do not include any links, the messages do not ask you to provide any personal data, and you cannot respond to these messages.
The sender of Finnish text message reminders is “TyömarkTori”, and the sender of Swedish reminders is “Jobbmarknad”. Please note that the employment authority may also send you text messages from other phone numbers, in which case the name of the sender will not be the same.
In addition to text message reminders, you can still receive Suomi.fi reminders about unemployment security if you have activated the Suomi.fi Messages service, as well as messages sent by appointment reservation systems if the service in question is used in your employment area.
