Alternative Sinuna authentication service
Sinuna authentication enables identification for Job Market Finland for those users who do not have the possibility of strong identification. The service is provided by a non-profit Finnish Authentication Cooperative.
Authentication with the Sinuna service is based on a user name and one-time access code that is sent via email. The user's privacy is guaranteed, as the Sinuna service does not collect or pass on any additional information about the user.
At Job Market Finland, Sinuna authentication is only intended for those who do not have the possibility of strong identification.
A user identified through Sinuna can:
- create a job applicant profile,
- receive job suggestions based on the profile data; and
- share the job applicant profile in the EURES service.
As electronic communication with authorities in Finland requires strong identification, it is not possible for those who have identified themselves through Sinuna to use the online service. It is also not possible to copy the job applicant profile to authority procedures for those who have identified themselves through Sinuna. In addition, the creation of a job posting for household employers has been excluded from users identified through Sinuna. If a user uses Sinuna authentication to create a job applicant profile and later wants to switch to Suomi.fi e-identification, the existing information will not be transferred with the user but must be recreated.
