Networks are preparing for future employment areas

News

In 2024, we will be preparing for the TE24 reform on Job Market Finland's regional pages, with which, from the beginning of 2025, employment services will be transferred to municipalities. We strive to make the regional pages as convenient as possible for new employment authorities to share information so that it will be as easy as possible to find regional information in the future.

At the beginning of 2025, 45 new employment authorities will start their work, and they will be responsible for organising employment and business services in their region. The reform will have a significant impact on Job Market Finland's regional website as well.

Regional pages are a collectively designed entity by local actors, which is a part of Job Market Finland. The regional pages contain region- and municipality-specific information on local events and employment-related news. You can also search for contact details of operators in your area and services described in the Suomi.fi Finnish Service Catalogue.

Regional pages of North Karelia developed by experts

Of the current 15 TE regions, North Karelia is the only one whose operations will continue under the same regional division. In other words, North Karelia will act as both a region and an employment area in the future.

In North Karelia, network cooperation began well in 2023. In addition to the ELY Centre, the network currently includes representatives from 13 different organisations. Representatives of municipalities, educational institutions, development companies, organisations, the Regional Council and the TE Office are involved.

Wide range of content possible on regional pages

The North Karelia regional page already shows the network's well-functioning cooperation. For example, in the Current Affairs tab, news items are published frequently. The topics range from recruitment events to current services in the region.

The network developing the regional pages of North Karelia meets approximately once a month. During the meetings, the representatives plan the topics and schedules of future news items. In addition, the network discusses its plans for developing its own regional pages more extensively. There are also plans to open North Karelia's first theme page.

In connection with the regional pages, it is possible to create so-called theme pages that provide more extensive visibility for the employment themes or active campaigns in the region. All regional theme pages are consistent in their appearance, but regions can create their own content in any way they want. Depending on the region's needs, the content may be visual or textual. In addition, the theme pages can feature, for example, video clips.
