The term ‘job offer’ will be discontinued on 1 March

One method that the employment official uses to promote employment to a jobseeker is to send them job offers. When the jobseeker receives a job offer, they must apply to the position and notify the employment official of their application within the deadline.

The law regarding job offers is changing on 1 March. In the future, job offers will be referred to as ‘job assigned for application by the employment official’. The law is also changing to make it immediately mandatory to begin applying for the indicated job.

If the employment official assigns a job for you to apply to, you must apply for that job. If you do not apply for the job, the official authority will conduct an investigation. This may affect your right to unemployment benefits.

What does this change mean for Job Market Finland?

Job Market Finland will be updated with the new terms on 1 March. In the future, the service will show ‘job assigned for application’ instead of ‘job offer’.
