348,000 unemployed jobseekers in February

The number of unemployed jobseekers increased by 21,600 from February last year. There were 46,100 newly announced vacancies.

At the end of February, there were a total of 348,000 unemployed jobseekers. It is 21,600 more than a year earlier and 1,600 more than in the previous month.

At the end of February, 39,500 people were laid off nationwide, which is 4,700 fewer than the year before. A total of 28,300 people were fully laid off, which is 2,300 fewer than in February last year. Since January, the number people fully laid off increased by 1,000.

In February, there were 139,800 long-term unemployed persons, or those who had been unemployed for at least one year without interruption, up 26,500 on the previous year.

The number of new vacancies reported in February was 46,100, which is 4,200 fewer than in February last year. In all, the number of unfilled vacancies in February was 98,900, which is 14,400 fewer than a year ago.
