2024 was a time of great change for Job Market Finland

News

The year is nearing its end. We decided to look back at the year gone by and draw up a summary of the ways in which Job Market Finland developed in 2024.

As a rule, the national Suomi.fi identification is used to log into Job Market Finland. If the user did not previously have access to Suomi.fi or eIDAS identification, the login took place via the Sinuna identification service. Early in the year, we replaced Sinuna identification with a new email-based login method. When professionals seeking employment in Finland log into Job Market Finland via email identification, they are able to fill in and publish a job search profile, draw up a business plan and familiarise themselves with Job Market Finland’s suggested vacancies.

Since the start of the year, Job Market Finland has also provided information on labour market trainings. The labour market training search in Job Market Finland is currently still a trial version and, during the year, available trainings could also be browsed in the “Currently available labour market trainings” online service of TE Services. Job Market Finland’s labour market training search works in a similar way to the job search, i.e. you can search for the training options using different keywords. You can also enter several job titles in the search field or search for trainings on the basis of a training number.

We have also made changes to Job Market Finland’s Professional Information section. Improvements were made to the contents of the descriptions of occupations and the presentations of professional fields. To the descriptions of occupations, we added salary information in accordance with Statistics Finland’s structure of earnings statistics, in line with Statistics Finland’s classification of occupations. As the classifications do not always manage to perfectly match the job market, the salary information is indicative. In addition, we have renewed the presentations of professional fields, both in terms of appearance and content.

Job Market Finland expanded further in the autumn

In August, we launched Job Market Finland’s business plan tool. It enables you, for example, to plan your business from different points of view or find out what developing a business or becoming an employer would mean. Thanks to its wide range of economic calculation functions, you can also assess the profitability of your business.

In October, we divided the tools available to logged-in users into two sections: E-services and My job path. In the E-services section, private customers can use the services of the employment authorities, for example, register as a job seeker. In the My job path section, you can find tools related to independent job seeking and business planning, such as the job search profile and business plan. We also launched Job Market Finland’s Instructions and Support website where you can find easy links to the E-services and My job path sections as well as FAQ.

In short, Job Market Finland developed hugely in 2024. We have received a lot of feedback from our users, which is extremely valuable as it helps us plan further developments. Thank you for being a part of making Job Market Finland an even better service!
