Social care professionals support people in different stages and situations of life and help them cope with everyday life. In the work, social problems are prevented and participation is promoted. Social work is divided into different areas: child welfare, youth work, mental health work, substance abuse and addiction work as well as social work with the elderly and the disabled. Community work takes place, for example, in religious communities, where professionals work closely with people, strengthen a sense of community and take part in the major and important moments of life.
