Changes to Opening Hours in the South Karelia Employment Area

The opening hours of the telephone service have changed from the beginning of June, and changes to lobby service hours will take effect from the beginning of July.

The telephone service for personal customers is available on weekdays between 9:00 and 12:00 at p. 05 616 3300. Our chat service provides general advice and guidance on weekdays from 13:00 to 15:00. On Fridays between June 26 and August 14, 2026, the chat service will exceptionally close at 14:00.

From the beginning of July, our lobby services in Imatra and Lappeenranta will be available without an appointment on weekdays from 9:00 to 12:00. However, the lobby facilities will remain accessible until 16:00 (in Imatra on Fridays until 14:00).

During this time, you can:

•  use customer computers
•  leave documents in mailboxes
•  attend appointments as usual

– The changes to services are valid until further notice. With these changes, we can ensure daily access to guidance without an appointment, while also providing more personalized service and deeper job-search support for job-seeking clients, from the start of their job search to employment, says Director of Employment Services Sanna Natunen.

Remember to remain reachable by the employment authority during the summer

A jobseeker’s job search remains valid when they interact with the employment authority as agreed and at the agreed time. The jobseeker must also follow the instructions and deadlines provided in the Job Market Finland (Työmarkkinatori) “E-services” section or during other interactions.

It is important to keep contact details up to date during the summer as well. Changes can be reported via the Job Market Finland E-services section, which is available 24/7. For example, if you are unable to attend a scheduled appointment, you must submit a cancellation through the E-services system.
