Publishing your job applicant profile is now part of the job search process
- News
The legislative amendment under which publishing a job applicant profile will generally be mandatory in the future entered into force on 1 September.
As a new job seeker, you generally have 15 working days to fill in and publish your profile after starting your job search. If you fail to publish your job applicant profile within the deadline, an employment official will enter the minimum information in the profile and publish the profile on your behalf. However, you can supplement and update your profile at any time, even after the employment official has published it.
Employers can use job applicant profiles to find skilled workers for open jobs. The more diversely and accurately you describe your competence, experience and interests, the more likely it is that you come to an employer’s attention at the right time. You will receive messages from employers via Suomi.fi Messages.
From now on, the expert responsible for your employment services can view the information in your job applicant profile. In service encounters, you can discuss the content of your profile together and find ways for you to describe your competence in a way that makes it as attractive to employers as possible. If necessary, you can get help with completing and improving your profile.
