Development of employment services varies by region
- News
The KEHA Centre has published a national statistical review on the organisation of employment services in January–April 2026. The review shows that the development of employment authorities has taken different directions in the different employment areas.
The employment areas launched their activities in a challenging labour market situation, which also continued during the first third of 2026. Unemployment, and in particular long-term unemployment, has increased in many regions, although in some regions the development has been more positive in the first third of the year. Differences are apparent in areas such as unemployment flows, service implementation, and the use of activation services.
The review contains up-to-date comparison data on, such things as how the number of jobseekers and job vacancies has developed, the implementation of employment plans, customer satisfaction, and the costs of unemployment benefits co-financed by municipalities.
The national statistical review supports the monitoring and development of employment services and provides an overall picture of the situation in employment areas for the use of different actors.
