Work and Stay - A Whole Life in the Northeast Land

For whom?

The area of operation is Puolanka, Kuusamo, Taivalkoski, Posio and Pudasjärvi. 

The target group of the project is anyone who needs help finding a job, is at risk of unemployment or is interested in job opportunities in the area. Particular attention will be paid to the needs of those with specific skills and immigrants. Information and guidance will also be provided to those interested in entrepreneurship.

Theme of the project

The objective is to increase prosperity, employment and vitality in the North-East, in particular to prevent exclusion, to promote the employment of those who are not well integrated into the labour market and to promote the supply of skilled labour. 

What you do when participating in the project’s activities?

The project participant will work with a job interpreter, career counsellor or placement coordinator according to personal needs. The work may include identifying and articulating your skills and strengths, searching for suitable jobs and workplaces, getting to know the workplace, assessing your work capacity through the job link and, if necessary, making use of other appropriate services, and settling in a new location. The work-life interpreter supports the jobseeker and the employer at the beginning of the employment relationship and, if necessary, during the employment relationship. The aim is to find a solution for the participant's specific situation.

The project also organises events to network with employers and short training courses to help people develop their skills quickly.

ESF+, with the City of Kuusamo as the main implementer and the North-East Finland Development Company Naturpolis Oy, Ksakki ry, the Municipality of Posio, the City of Pudasjärvi, the Municipality of Puolanka and the Municipality of Taivalkoski as sub-implementers.
