Text message reminder
An employment official will send you a text message notification in advance to remind you of the deadline of a binding measure if you have given them your telephone number.
The employment official will introduce text message reminders on 1 March.
You can receive text message reminders of:
- participation in an initial interview, a job search discussion or a supplementary job search discussion,
- expiration of the application period for a job assigned to you by the employment official,
- approaching deadline for a task agreed on in the employment plan or an equivalent plan, and
- approaching deadline for responding to a request for clarification, a request for further clarification or a hearing (also if you have announced that you would submit attachments later).
If you have an obstacle that prevents you from attending an agreed-on meeting, contact the employment official in advance and book a new appointment.
Please note
To receive text message reminders:
- the employment official must have a single phone number on record for you,
- the phone number must be Finnish, and
- the phone number must not have any special characters, such as parentheses, periods or letters.
The number may include the country code +358 or 00358, but the number may also be recorded without a country code.
Text message reminders from the employment official:
- will not include links,
- will not request personal information, and
- will be sent by ‘TyömarkTori’ (messages in Finnish) or ‘Jobbmarknad’ (messages in Swedish).
You cannot reply to the text message reminders.
In addition to text message reminders, you can receive Suomi.fi reminders about unemployment security if you have activated Suomi.fi Messages. You can also receive messages from appointment reservation systems if the service in question is used in your employment area. The employment official can also send you text messages from other phone numbers. The information described on this page only applies to automatic text message reminders.
