A basic degree qualification in Restaurant and Catering Services (waitress) can be completed in upper secondary vocational institutions. A basic degree can also be completed as apprenticeship training. Once competence has been accumulated, a vocational degree in Customer Service in Restaurant Services (bartender) and a specialist vocational certificate in Hotel and Catering Management can also be completed.
Licence to serve alcoholic beverages is a certificate proving that the person has sufficient knowledge of alcohol legislation. This is needed in order to be able to act as the manager of licensed facilities with a C-license (a bartender).
