Shelf stacker
A shelf stacker is a store employee who is responsible for displaying and placing products on the shelf. The work involves unloading goods from boxes, organising products in the right places, and ensuring that nothing runs out and that the shelves are tidy. Shelf stackers are also responsible for checking the dates on the products and making sure that expired or damaged products are removed from the shelf. The work requires being thorough, brisk and able to work independently.

Hyllyttäjän työssä vaaditaan huolellisuutta ja järjestelmällisyyttä, sillä tuotteet tulee asettaa myymälän hyllyihin oikeille paikoilleen ja esillepanon on oltava siistiä ja selkeää. Työssä tarvitaan myös fyysistä kestävyyttä ja reippautta, koska tavaroiden nostelu ja liikkuminen kuuluvat päivittäisiin tehtäviin.
Hyvät ajanhallinnan taidot sekä kyky itsenäiseen työskentelyyn ovat tärkeitä, sillä hyllyttäjä tekee usein työtä omatoimisesti. Päiväysten tarkistaminen ja tuotteiden kunnon seuraaminen edellyttävät tarkkuutta. Asiakaspalvelutaidoista on hyötyä, sillä työssä kohtaa usein asiakkaita, jotka kysyvät neuvoa ostosten tekemiseen liittyvissä asioissa.
Tehtävä ei yleensä vaadi aiempaa koulutusta, vaan perehdytys annetaan työnantajan toimesta.
