It is now easier for employers to receive a recruitment subsidy for hiring young people

  • News

The conditions for granting the recruitment subsidy for young people were eased on 1 July 2026. Employers can receive a recruitment subsidy for payroll costs when they agree with the employment authority to employ an unemployed jobseeker under the age of 30.

The purpose of the recruitment subsidy is to help young people find employment. The subsidy may be granted not only to companies, but also to associations and foundations.

The main conditions for granting the recruitment subsidy are:

  • The subsidy is only intended to cover the payroll costs of unemployed jobseekers under the age of 30.
  • The employer must commit to employing the young person for at least three months.

If the conditions are met, the employment authority may conclude an agreement with the employer on the granting of the recruitment subsidy. The subsidy may be granted for a minimum period of three months and a maximum period of six months. The amount of the subsidy is 50 per cent of the payroll costs, but no more than 1,500 euros per month for each young person employed.

Information on the recruitment subsidy and how to apply for it can be found on the Job Market’s regional pages and other communication channels of the employment area.
