Job Market Finland’s job posting will be renewed

  • News

The estimated launch of the updated job posting will be at the end of March. The exact date will be confirmed later. The changes also affect the job posting interfaces. We will provide separate information about this.

The overall appearance of the job posting is clearer and more accessible than before. The update also considers the requirements of mobile displays.

Clearer structure

The structure of the job posting is clearer than before, and the fields to be completed are arranged in a more logical order. Separate fields whose information employers have most often already provided in the Job Description section have been removed from the job posting. In some cases, this information is only agreed upon in the employment contract with the recruited person.

In the future, the Job Description section will form a single entity. As a result, you no longer need to complete the separate Short Summary section.

New ‘Job Posting Type’ selection

The biggest change is the new ‘Job Posting Type’ selection. In the future, you will need to specify whether the job you are posting is

  • an employment relationship,
  • a public service relationship,
  • a temporary agency job,
  • a recruitment assignment, or
  • an entrepreneur position.

Your selection will determine what information is requested from you next.

For example, if you select temporary agency job as the job posting type, you must report the client information at a more detailed level. In case of a recruitment assignment, you must provide the employer information accordingly.

Location and industry are required

In the future, location and industry will be mandatory information. The municipality corresponding to the location’s address determines which employment region your posting will target. If necessary, you can change or supplement the information in the Job Location section.

Location and industry information play an important role in statistics and in ensuring the correctness of statistics.

Employment type, working hours, and salary

Employment Type, Working Hours, and Salary sections are simpler than before. You will only be asked to make the selections related to these in the sections used for official statistics.

The posting also includes a pay range for specifying the salary. If the position’s salary does not fit within the pay range, you can also specify it in another way.

The addition of a pay range to the posting is based on the European Union Pay Transparency Directive, which entered into force in June 2025. The aim of the directive is to promote gender equality in pay and to increase the transparency of pay. The directive obliges the employer to state the initial salary or the pay range in the job posting or before the job interview.

Visibility of the job posting on the Work in Finland website

You can also recruit employees internationally. If your job posting is in English, and English is specified as the working language, your posting will also automatically appear in the Open Jobs section of the Work in Finland website. This will give your job posting more visibility.

If you do not want your posting to appear on the Work in Finland website, you can uncheck the box for displaying the posting on that site.
