The first step is to obtain a private pilot's licence, after which you can train to become a professional pilot. For example, specialising in HEMS (Helicopter Emergency Medical Service) requires work experience and further training in helicopter rescue. Training costs at private flight schools are high.
The Finnish Border Guard and Finnish Defence Forces train personnel for their respective tasks. To be eligible for these jobs, you must have taken the Air Reserve Officer course. The requirements for training are relatively strict.
