As a lawyer, you are required to have extensive knowledge of the legislation and the legal system. You must continuously monitor the development and changes in legislation. You need to have the ability to make independent decisions, and you must be able to justify the decisions based on legislation, precedents, instructions, and so on. You need to have the ability to master extensive topics, as well as have good oral and written presentation skills.

If you work in companies, it is essential to know business law and the legislation applicable to the company's sector. Practical experience in different sectors is beneficial. For example, if you work in organisations, the focus will be on training and advisory tasks, which also requires pedagogical competence.
