You are also required to have a good vision and a good ability to distinguish colours. You may be exposed to continuous noise from machines in their work. Chemical substances can cause allergies. The profession is not suitable for people with dust allergy.
In vocational institutions in upper secondary education and training, it is possible to complete a Vocational Qualification in Textiles and Fashion Industry (textile manufacturer). When you have accumulated competence, you can also complete a Further Vocational Qualification in Textiles and Fashion Industry, textile manufacturer (further vocational qualification) and a specialist vocational qualification. The qualification can also be completed through an apprenticeship.
Salary is usually hourly or monthly pay. Possible bonuses will also be paid. The Finnish Textile and Fashion negotiates generally applicable collective agreements in the sector, which companies in the sector must comply with.
