The Vocational Qualification in Electrical Engineering and Automation Technology completed in an upper secondary vocational institution is suited for the tasks of a mechanic doing electrical work. It is also possible to complete a vocational qualification through an apprenticeship. The railway company VR, for example, familiarises its mechanics with rolling stock maintenance tasks and provides the necessary training alongside the work.
